Bike Safety Day and BBQ
From 2pm-4pm, come down to Ludington’s beautiful Sterns Beach Park, just at the end of Ludington Ave, to help educate community children in how to be safe this summer on their bikes. There will have a bike inspection area so parents and caregivers can see how to check bikes for safety. Your little ones can test their skills on our test track featuring 6 stages for all riders and 4 stages for advanced riders (no training wheels). Helmets are encouraged but not required. The Ludington Area Jaycees would also like to thank Floracraft for their wonderful donation towards this event, because of them we have 12 bike helmets to give away! Complete the first 6 stages to be entered in the drawings and get a free game of mini golf! There are 2 boys and 2 girls helmets for ages 3+, 5+ and 8+.
In 2011, nearly 1,200 community representatives in 56 counties reviewed 590 child deaths and
determined that more than half (62%) were preventable.
Participants will need to bring their own bikes.
After you are certified in your bike safety, stop by the grand opening day of the Jaycees Mini Golf course for a BBQ (from 4pm-6pm) and a free round of mini golf for kids (parents can golf free also- all they have to do is fill out a community survey!)
The Ludington Area Jaycees have created a new event to benefit their 2018 Freedom Festival Fireworks Fund called the Light Up
